Do not adjust your monitor… But you might want to put on some shades.
I’m loving that neon is back… with a vengeance.
Today was my last
half day at Company D. Since they couldn’t get approval to have two temps in at the same time, I agreed to bow out early so the new girl would have more time to train, before she was forced to fly solo next week.
So that left my afternoon pretty open.
I gladly agreed to go to lunch with my (former) coworker as a lovely send off, and the department even gave a cute mug to remind me of them at my new job. I was also assured that I would be given a great reference letter any time. That really makes you feel validated.
After devouring my lunch. I had some time to kill before my afternoon appointment. The sun was shining… summer was in full swing, so I decided to get myself an iced tea at David’s Tea, and do a little shopping.
Since I’m leaving on Friday for Ottawa, and I intend to do some running with my sister when I get up there, I thought it was about time to finally scoop up a new pair of runners. I had decided that I would gift myself with a new pair of running sneakers when I got a full time job and I had been eyeing a couple pairs over the last few months. Deep down though, I really was hoping to get a really fun pair that would also be well suited for my feet.
Then I found these…
In the spirit of celebrating my new job and renewed focus on healthy living, I also decided to treat myself with another item that would give me a little more spring in my step, and fire in my belly.
So yes, I spent my monthly allowance for clothes for August already. Not a great step towards abiding by my budget… but I’m still trying to learn how to balance achieving all of my goals.
Motivation to work out and eat healthy.
Self-restraint when it comes to spending.
I’m still a work in process.
